What to Look for When Buying a Multivitamin
Not all multivitamins are created equally. You don’t necessarily have to purchase a name brand multivitamin, but you should consider the multivitamin ingredients. Read the label and see if it states that it contains Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Vitamin K, and folic acid. You should also see if it contains the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) of copper, zinc and iron.
Some multivitamins are designed for a certain group of people. Each of these brands contains beneficial vitamins designed just for that group.
Taking Other Supplements While Taking Multivitamins
Many people will also choose to take other
supplements along with their multivitamins. For example, fish oil is a
popular supplement that helps to lower the risk of cardiovascular
diseases and other nutritional deficiencies. Many people will take Omega 3-6-9's in pill form and liquid form while taking multivitamins.
Great post!! I use a multi vitamin, omega 3's, Vitamin C, magnesium, glutamine, and depending on what phase I am in with my weight training I usually will switch up my aminos. You made a valid point you should always be cautious of which supplements your taking and which ones you can mix together. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI need to add some vitamin C, flu season is upon us *drama music*. And you are SO right, I take note of my supplements. Then when I see my doctor I make sure to let him know what "cocktail" I am taking. Though some vitamins and/or herbal supplements may be good separately they could be harmful when combined. It's always best to consult a doctor if you have any questions.
